Electronic Cigarettes (E-Cigs):
I’ve been experimenting with E-Cigs since August of this year and I’m still using a few tobacco cigs here and there though not near as many as in the past. My main beefs with E-cigs are they are two heavy, obviously made of metal and require stronger suction/or puffing power than that of a cigarette. The current model I’m using is from Sungold and I did have to order the kit from China, it’s refillable and came with 10ml’s of e-liquid which I ordered in Marlboro flavor and 24 mgs of nicotine. One of the things I’ve learned from researching the cartridge is you can repack them with new cotton or other absorbent material and continue to use them.
The atomizer will generally last for about 10,000 puffs or around three months, if you do get any nicotine on you wash with plenty of soap and water since nicotine is absorbed through the skin, supposedly you can’t OD on nicotine and I sure as hell don’t believe that. After further research through Google I discovered that according to some, yes you can OD on nicotine. So the big question is do E-cigs deliver the nicotine and the answer is a resounding yes they do. When E-cigs are perfected (and they’re not to damned far from it now) and take off the way computers did and “they will” the big tobacco companies are going to hurt. When it comes right down to it the tobacco companies don’t actually want anyone to quit using tobacco, nor does the Government or state governments.
To damned much money to made from the sale of tobacco products and taxes collected on the sale of tobacco products. I think cigarettes are now at 10 dollars a pack in California, people 10 freaking dollars a pack, so that equals out at 100.00 dollars per carton. Two packs in Oklahoma are 9.58 so anyone should be able to see why tobacco companies don’t want people to quit smoking. Tobacco companies are closing their eyes when it comes to E-cigs, and instead of trying to compete with E-cig manufactures by making a cheap alternative to tobacco the tobacco companies are burying their heads in the sand.
I’ve not managed to find a great deal of info on the safety of E-cigs mainly because the FDA is being paid off in huge grants from the tobacco companies believe it not, most of the research being done and available on the Internet is being done by private doctors who use E-cigs and their patients who want a reasonably safe alternate nicotine delivery system to smoking and/or tobacco products.
